THE USE OF "WOULD"

Usamos el "would" para referirnos a acciones hipotéticas. En español usamos el condicional. 

La estructura es would+infinitivo

Ejemplos: salir--> saldría

comer-->comería

bailar--> bailaría

In English:

I would go to the cinema if it were raining.

I would buy a castle if I were rich.

You would pass the exam if you studied.

En el post de hoy vamos a ver los verbos modales.

En este post explicaré el Reported Speech o Estilo Indirecto. 

¿Cuando se usa? 

Pues se usa en los artículos, noticias, y cuando te toca decir lo que fulanito dijo. Hay una tabla muy útil para acordarse de cómo cambia el tiempo verbal pero lo mejor es pensar qué es lo que ocurre en español. En la mayoría de los casos, el cambio de inglés a español va a ser el mismo.

Veamos por ejemplo esta oración:

         Direct speech: "Mañana iré al dentista" dijo María. 

¿Cómo lo pasaríamos al reported?

         Indirect speech: María dijo que al día siguiente iría al dentista"

¿Simple, no?

Pues vamos a hacerlo en inglés ahora.

En los verbos say and tell ponemos un "that", tal y como en español ponemos un "que" (ex: dijo que, contó que)
